Although critically acclaimed, an ending for the series would be no big surprise: it’s experienced some delays and shifts in the creative team, didn’t have the massive sales of its sister title Superior Spider-Man, and the Superior moniker itself seems to be phasing out at Marvel.

Superior Foes of Spider-Man #11 sold around 18,143 units in April so cancellation is certainly a probability. Even with the title seeming to be leveling off around that level, it is lower than the usual Marvel cut off point of around 20,000.

Yes, penultimate mean next to last. It does look like the next solicitation will be the final issue which is a bummer. Given the sales, it isn't too surprising.

the latest Previews solicit reads: "Still Not Cancelled", at least for another month

It has been under 20,000 the last four issues so odds are it will end soon.

The term "cancelled" seems highly subjective at Marvel these days. Perhaps a reboot will be in its near future with the new Superior Spider-Man coming back?

After hearing all the praise, I had tried to hop on board with issue #12 and was of course confused; I didn't know the characters, and the Owl's characterization was quite different from what I'm reading in Daredevil. I hope they'll give the title a few more issues so latecomers like me will have a chance to get caught up and start buying regularly.

it was firing on all cylinders at the beginning, that first trade is awesome, i would try that and see if its for you
