Yeah DC has been towing the line at 299 on some titles which I appreciate
Marvel is definitely the worse offender

I have noticed that Marvel tends to like the $4.99 first issue, and as they seem to want to reboot their titles semi-annually, this could be reflective of that. It would be interesting to watch over the next 6 months (assuming there is no major world Super All New Totally All Different relaunching) if the average prices come down to a closer average.

The other way to look at it would be to take out the #1's for both DC and Marvel, and see what the average "on-going" price for titles through each is.

Looks like IDW is trying the $4.99 price point now.

Those are 40 page one-shots. It isn't a great sign but I'd be a bit more worried if the $4./99 price tag was on 32 page ongoing titles.

7 of the top 20 books in 2015 were at the $4.99 price point, 2 were at the $5.99 price point.

Marvel had the most with 7 books at those price points.

Marvel had 5 books at that point from ranks 21-50.

DC had 5 books at the $4.99-$5.99 price points in the top 50.
