I mentioned this on the podcast comments, but I just wanted to repeat here that I REALLY appreciate you guys reviewing Twilight Guardian. I'm finding that most folks who read it are enjoying it, but unfortunately they can't read it if they've never heard of it! So I tremendously appreciate all the word of mouth I can get. And that was a humdinger of a review (that's a technical funnybook writing term).

Thanks, guys!

Just read it, I liked it a lot. Very nice art too. I look forward to this series just as much as any other.

Yes, issue #1 and 2 are both 5/5 for me also. Nice to hear from the writer a couple of replys up. I love the cover on issue 2. The cover, the writing, story, art, the whole package together makes it a 5/5. I wouldn't have pre-ordered this series without Bob and John encouraging me to do so on the Previews Skype call. I'm glad I pre-ordred the rest of the 4 issue mini series. This is a comic book I wouldn't be able to find on the rack in my local shop. I hope there will be more TG stories to come after this mini series.

Morning Glories #7: I'm always on the fence with this series. When you have a mystery going it's always a fine line between keeping things mysterious and not giving enough info and thus leaving the reader too confused ... and ultimately giving up.

I thought after the first story arc it was the latter and figured I'd give this series a few more issues. I'm glad I did. #6 was pretty good, but this issue was great. There are still plenty of things going on where you have no clue what they're about, but at least we're getting to know the characters more. And what a great ending.

Paul Nolan wrote:Image Comics' Memoir #2

about as perfect as a comic book can get. it was possibly the most unnerving comic book I've ever read. I don't think a comic book has ever scared me before, so it was a real surprise to have this book send shivers down the spine and cause my arm hairs to stand up.

The pacing was perfect, the art work was incredibly apt.

Image comics have been on a roll recently, but this is possibly there best series in a while.
I liked it too but I didn't think it was that scary. It definitely had some cool eerie moments, but I think I prefer "Echoes" right now for a horror mini-series.

I do like the art for a lot of the book, but I wish some of the people were better drawn. Sometimes it looks sloppy, but maybe that's on purpose for some reason.

I'm really enjoying the story on Memoir, but the art is really rough. I'm OK with impressionistic stuff, like Ben Templesmith or Ashley Wood, but I agree with abysslord, the art on Memoir looks more sloppy than stylized. It's the art that would keep me from rating the series above a 4/5.

It was a solid 4.5/5 for me. I really liked the twist and turns in this issue.

I totally agree, this was a 5/5. VERY disturbing ending (in a good way), Nick Spencer just kicked this book up to top of the stack for me.

Man I really did enjoy the Post Apocalyptic story in DC Universe Online Legends #1. Well written story that really captivated all of my attention and now I have to wait for #3 to ship to me. Both #1 and #2 were (5/5) for me. I don't play video games but I am so glad I picked up this story.

Avengers Academy #8 - The best Marvel comic book on the stands for me and month in and month out it is a perfect flow of words and pictures. McKone art is some of the best out there and I can't say enough about Gage. I believe I own every work Gage has done and I am never disappointed with his work. (5/5)

Three new books to add this week. All of them very different and just hit the sweet spot for me to make them perfect 5/5.

1) Herculian #1 (Image) - Great story of two distant brothers discussing marriage while a huge super-hero fight is happening out side. Erik Larson printed this in magazine style format and it was awesome. Supersize Fun!! I believe he created this work in a 24 hour period.

2) Wolverine/Hercules #1 (Marvel) - Two long time friends meet at a bar and talk about old times. Great dialog. Frank Tieri brings back a Hercules villain and Wolverine villain to plot against the two heroes. Art very nice.

3) Justice League Generation Lost #21 (DC) One of my favorite comics month in and month out. This month it was no exception with an emotional roller coaster of an issue. Rocket Red and Captain Atom really stood out in this issue. Winick is writing a master piece with this series and the dialog is wonderful. I want more and I know the series is coming to an end and I hope there is some follow on book for this. Booster Gold and Power Girl have been wonderful tie-ins to this series. Love it.

I thought the Legion of Super-Villains one-shot was 5/5 awesome. Looks like the start of an new epic storyline by Levitz.

Two more to add from this weekend

Darkness Four Horseman #3, probably my favorite Darkness story ever. David Hine is a must read for me because I pretty much dig anything he writes.

Jennifer Blood #1 I did not expect to like this book as much as I did but it was a great story about a housewife by day and vigilante at night. The only thing I did not like was what she did to the kids before she went out at night.

I think the whole series is supposed to take place over a week's time, so she won't have to do it for long. In the grand scheme of things, it's probably better than any other option.
